A Moment

A-Moment

A Moment – Another Daily Sketch.

I’m always dreaming one day I can have a room full of books, enough for me to read for a whole life. When I was in college, the best place I would go when I had time was the library. During those years I was interested in several subjects so much, and I went to the library to borrow all the books available on those subjects. One of them was Translation. I still remembered that I browsed at least hundreds of books on Translation. How to translate essay, novel, poetry, science, and different ways to do the translation. I think that’s one of my favorite subjects. Till today, I still enjoy reading different versions of translation about one article, and feel the beauty of language. A beautiful translation is like an artwork, smooth, elegant, flowing seamlessly with message and feelings.

Colorful Winter and Simply Summer

Two of my original drawings – “Colorful Winter” and “Simply Summer”.

I love nature and enjoy almost every moment being with it, sun and rain, day and night, mountain and river, green and flowering spring, colorful and hot summer, red and orange fall. However winter is my least favorite season – I don’t like cold dry chilly days with sharp winds blowing on my cheeks and through my hair, I’d rather stay indoor. During winter, I’d either try my best to reduce outdoor activities, or head to south to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather there, sometimes I feel like I’m kind of a migrating bird. 😉

On the opposite, I love summer much more, though sometimes the mosquito is quite annoying. To me, summer means beautiful flowers, tasty fruits, time to relax, and beach time! There is nothing better to play in cool water in a hot summer day! (Maybe, to sit cozily besides a warm fireplace, reading a book or chatting with family and friends; but that’s stay indoor, so I guess that doesn’t count 😉 )

Feast of flowers – From sketch to finished piece

New art – Feast of Flowers

Most of the times it starts with a simple pencil sketch in my sketch book. An idea circles in my mind and I find a way to put it on paper.  Then it goes to the archival paper with pen and ink, with more details and decorations. After that I scan the finished pen and ink drawing to my computer to do the coloring. Little by little, brush by brush, layer by layer. And it’s ready to go to the world! 😀

Dancing In The Rain

dance in the rain

-Dancing In The Rain

Rain or shine… Day or night…  Anytime is a good time to bring the sun, moon, stars, and clouds inside. After the last time the firework night inspiration, I was inspired by weather elements again. Not only shapes, but also the color palettes. I would love to see the combos of different elements blending and mixing together while still staying independent with each other.

Peek A Boo

Peek A Boo

Today’s work: Peek A Boo! Strokes were drawn in pen and ink on paper, colors were done digitally. Prints available Here.

I do love these bright colors. Color affects the mood, dark and gloomy colors bring down our moods at times as an overcast day full of rain and wind. On the opposite, if you are surrounded by bright colors, your heart will start to dance, with a clear blue sky, turquoise woods, a soft breeze caressing your cheek whilst your eyes drunk upon the feast of flowers and your ears immersed in music of birds chirping. This was the experience I had in a garden in south of Switzerland, a sunny summer afternoon several years ago.

Being Alone

Screen-Shot-2014-07-07-at-9.33

–Lonely Field.

Lately I was working on this painting “Longly Field”. As you can see, it was inspired by one of Vincent van Gogh’s classic paintings “Wheat Field with Cypresses”.  Throughout his life, Van Gogh was said to be an extremely lonely person. No doubt his use of bold colors and decorative designs were the product of intense loneliness.

I love being alone as much as socializing, sometimes socializing could give me many fun experiences and balance my life, some other times I enjoy to stay in my own world to create new works, focus, calm, and imaginary.
