It is a short rhyming picture book. I’m so amazed that it brings us through a hockey game from the first puck drop to the final buzzer with such limited words. The rhyming is smooth and perfect, like a sing-along song for bedtime. So it serves really perfect for bedtime story. It will bring calm and good dream to children, especially little sport lovers.
The illustrations are vibrant, engaging, full of actions and capturing the sport from various angles. All the details are very charming too. Parents can show their children all the stuff about the sport, older ones will also enjoy looking for and pointing out the items. It’s such a visual pleasure to read the book.
It’s a book perfect for early readers, and all hockey lovers.
Working on a new book! The fourth book this year. Hmmm, seems still a productive year so far 🙂 It’s such a pleasure to bring the story to life, To build up an imaginative world and give it some magic touch.
Well, sorry for being SOOOO quiet for the past 5 months! (FIVE months already! Time flies!!) Here are some quick updates. We moved from Atlanta, Georgia to Des Moines, Iowa, yep, big change 🙂 I’ve just finished two children’s books and here is some sneak peek of the illustrations. Working on another new children’s book currently, hope I can get it done next month! Change, Challenge and Creativity! I’ll keep you guys posted! 🙂
Recently I’m working on a new picture book. It’s really fun to draw the setting of a colorful little town. I’ve drawn and painted this kind of small town several times before but every time I had some new ideas and inspirations to explore the style a little bit. This time I’ve tried to make the characters more appealing to beginner readers (the target audience of this picture book) and the overall color tone bright and cheerful.
Earlier this month I had the privilege of being a reader for a group of youngsters. I got to read one of my favorite books, It’s Time To Eat (Chinese Edition), and talk to the kids about being an author. The energetic kindergartners made me feel very welcome and I really enjoyed spending some time with them. We explored the adventures together with Marcus the Monkey and his friends, and discussed different kinds of food for different animals.
Books have the power to benefit toddlers and preschoolers in a myriad of ways. As a parent, reading to your child is one of the most important things you can do to prepare him with a foundation for academic excellence. Read aloud to your kids, start early and stay with it!
